WHO launched immunisation campaign against polio in south Libya
In continuation of WHO efforts to mitigate polio virus importation to Libya, WHO in coordination with UNICEF supported and facilitated for NCDC, the implementation of Sub-National Immunisation Campaign in 8 districts of the southern region in Libya.
The immunisation campaign has included children of migrants and IDPs.
In spite of active war during all phases of the campaign 86,253 (83.4%) children below 6 years were vaccinated from 29th April to 4th May 2017, WHO said in a press release this week.
It also added that Independent Post Campaign Evaluation by NGO and field data validation by WHO staff are going on.
