Water for captives release, Benghazi Defence Brigades and Operation Dignity deal says
Benghazi Defence Brigades (BDB) said the forces of Operation Dignity informed them that Khalifa Haftar had agreed to allow water to enter into the besieged Ganfudah area in western Benghazi, saying it will thereafter release the Operation Dignity fighters in return.
“We will set free the Operation Dignity fighters once water enters to Ganfudah, which is our only aim from holding those fighters captive.” BDB told Al-Nabaa TV.
Earlier, the so-called command of the Operation Dignity ordered Benghazi mayor to strike the deal with BDB to set the fighters freee.
BDB had given a deadline for negotiating the deal and it ended Friday.
The deal was water for Ganfuda trapped families and civilians for the release of the Operation Dignity fighters detained by BDB.
