Vying for power in Libya, Basit Igtet slams Libyan unity government as failure
The former candidate for the post of Libyan Prime Minister, Basit Igtet, has posted a new video on Wednesday on his Facebook page, sending a message to Fayez Al-Serraj and Khalifa Haftar.
Igtet criticised in his message the call of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Accord Al-Serraj for lifting the ban on importing weapons that is slapped by the UN.
He said that Al-Serraj’s promise to lift the ban is irresponsible.
Likewise, he criticised Haftar for causing banks in the eastern region in Libya a big loss of cash (about 20 billion), leaving the country on the edge regarding liquidity.
Igtet also asked both Al-Serraj and Haftar to apologize for the Libyan people and he called on the Libyan people as well to go out in public squares (especially Martyrs Square in Tripoli) on 25 September and demand better living conditions and support him for the upcoming period in Libya’s history.
