Violent clashes erupt in Libya’s capital Tripoli as armed brigade attack Mitiga prison
Violent clashes have erupted Monday morning in Libya’s capital, Tripoli, as armed brigades attack Mitiga prison inside Mitiga Airport in Sooq Jumua area.
According to social media, all schools returned the students to their homes, the roads surrounding the fight in the beach road and Sooq Jumua as well as Bab Tajura areas were shut down.
Flughts from and to Mitiga Airport in Tripoli have been suspended amid the violent fighting.
Sources reported that heavy weapons are being heard in the area of clashes, adding that some families are trapped inside the fight zone.
