Ukraine to respond to Trump’s peace proposal at London meeting

Ukraine is expected to provide its response to a US-proposed peace framework during a meeting in London today, according to reports from the Axios news portal.
The proposal, described as President Donald Trump’s “final offer” on Ukrainian conflict settlement, was reportedly delivered to Ukrainian officials during an April 17 meeting in Paris attended by delegations from the United Kingdom, the United States and France.
Sources cited by Axios claim the one-page document calls for “major concessions” from Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, potentially including US recognition of Crimea as part of Russia and unofficial acknowledgement of Russian control over territories captured during the conflict.
However, Ukrainian representatives may instead focus on proposing a 30-day ceasefire during today’s London talks rather than directly addressing Trump’s peace plan framework, according to the report.
The Daily Telegraph has suggested that the US proposal consists of seven points, including provisions on recognising Crimea as Russian territory and lifting all US sanctions, whilst offering limited security guarantees for Ukraine.
US Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia Keith Kellogg is expected to present the plan at today’s meeting in London. Following this, presidential special envoy Steven Witkoff will reportedly travel to Moscow to discuss the proposal with the Russian government.
Neither Ukraine nor the United States has officially confirmed the details of the peace proposal.
