Twitter’s iconic blue bird logo sells at auction for nearly $35,000

The famous blue bird logo that once adorned Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters has been sold at auction for $34,375, the Associated Press reports. The massive sign, weighing 254 kilograms and measuring 3.7 by 2.7 metres, was removed after Elon Musk acquired the platform and rebranded it as X.
According to RR Auction, which specialises in rare and collectible items, the buyer of the iconic symbol has chosen to remain anonymous.
This sale continues Musk’s practice of auctioning items from Twitter’s former offices, including various signs, souvenirs and furniture since the acquisition.
The auction featured other significant pieces of technology history as well. An Apple-1 computer with accessories commanded the highest price at $375,000. Other notable items included a cheque from Apple Computer Co. bearing Steve Jobs’ signature from 1976, which sold for $112,054, and a first-generation iPhone with 4GB of memory in its original packaging that fetched $87,514.
