Trump claims Ukraine conflict is “Biden’s war,” vows to seek resolution

President Donald Trump characterised the ongoing conflict in Ukraine as “Biden’s war” while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Tuesday.
“This is Biden’s war. This is not my war,” said Trump, who took office in January. “I’ve been here for a very short period of time. This is a war that was under Biden.”
The president emphasised his desire to end the conflict, which began in February 2022 when Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. “I’m just trying to get it stopped, so that we can save a lot of lives,” Trump stated.
Trump criticized his predecessor’s approach to Ukraine, claiming the previous administration “gave billions and billions of dollars” in aid. He suggested that the conflict could have been prevented entirely under different leadership.
Since taking office, Trump has signaled a shift in U.S. policy toward the Ukraine conflict, though specific details of his administration’s strategy remain under development.
The White House did not immediately respond to requests for additional comment on the president’s remarks.
