Tripoli International Fair opens with global participation

The 51st Tripoli International Fair kicked off Monday at our historic exhibition grounds here in Tripoli, witnessing an impressive turnout of officials, diplomats and representatives from both local institutions and international partners.
Our Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh led the inauguration ceremony, joined by the Economy and Trade Minister, the Chairman of our General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences, alongside several cabinet members, the diplomatic community, prominent business figures and other distinguished guests.
In his speech, which resonated strongly with attendees, PM Dbeibeh emphasised how the Tripoli International Fair stands as a proud symbol of our economic and cultural identity. He highlighted the government’s recent achievement in legally recovering all exhibition lands and properties – a significant step to safeguard this treasured national institution that holds a special place in our collective memory.
The Prime Minister also praised the growing efforts of our General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences in elevating the fair’s status through wider international participation and the introduction of modern digital systems – developments we have all been eager to see.
With notable enthusiasm, Dbeibeh announced our upcoming “Tripoli Centre for Exhibitions and Conferences” project, set to become a landmark facility not just for Libya but for all North Africa, built to the highest international standards. This represents our country’s commitment to establishing platforms that will drive investment and development for years to come.
A particularly meaningful moment came when officials unveiled the specially designed postage stamp commemorating this 51st edition – continuing a cherished tradition.
We are particularly proud that this year’s exhibition has attracted over 30 countries and around 500 companies from Libya and abroad, making it one of the grandest and most diverse editions we have hosted in the fair’s long history.
The exhibition continues until next Monday, offering our citizens and international visitors a rich program of activities and digital business forums aimed at strengthening Libya’s economic ties with countries around the world and showcasing what our nation has to offer.
