Total blackout sweeps through Libya’s western region
The Libyan capital as well as all of the western region’s cities have been affected by a total blackout since Saturday sunset.
The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) has not said anything on its official social media regarding the cause of the total darkness in Tripoli and the western region.
Libyans have poured out their anger on the GECOL and the rival governments in the country on social media, saying that all of this misery was caused by the current political and power conflicts that are crippling all basic services.
This new tragedy has come to add to the misery of the capital’s residents, who have been enduring outage of water supplies for the last four days due to a damage in the Man-Made River’s tracks in Al-Khums city, which is usually the source of delivering water to Tripoli.
