The Central Bank of Libya responds to Presidential Council calls
In a statement on Sunday, the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) in Tripoli, welcomed the calls to end the role of parallel institutions in accordance with the terms of the political agreement.
The CBL affirmed the need for lawful basis for such actions to take place, saying ” as a matter of national and historical responsibility, this should be done on legal grounds by assigning a specialized authority to review all the work of the banks in Al-Bayda and Tripoli, so that each party bears the legal responsibility resulting from its work.”
The Governor of the Central Bank in Al-Bayda, Ali Al-Habari, agreed to attend the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Libya in Tripoli, which was called upon by the head of the Presidential Council Faiz Al-Sarraj.
Al-Sarraj, called on the governors of the Central Bank of Libya in Tripoli and Al-Bayda, Sadiq Al-Kabir and Ali Al-Habri, to rise to the level of national responsibility and distance themselves from political and personal differences.
