Takala rejects Morocco political talks

Mohamed Takala, claiming leadership of Libya’s High Council of State (HCS), has denounced recent meetings in Morocco between members of the HCS and House of Representatives (HoR), stating participants lacked official council representation.
Takala called on Libya’s Foreign Ministry to contact Moroccan counterparts to prevent unauthorised discussions, highlighting internal divisions within the council.
The Morocco talks in Bouznika, attended by rival HCS head Khalid Al-Mishri and HoR representatives, had produced agreements on forming a unified government and establishing committees to address security, financial and economic challenges.
These discussions occurred outside the UN-led political process intended to guide Libya towards elections.
