Gen. Keith Kellogg has reportedly been selected as special envoy to Ukraine and Russia, according to statements from Mike Waltz, described as the incoming national security adviser.

Waltz posted on X that 80-year-old Kellogg would be appointed to the position. The post characterised Kellogg as “dedicated” to defending the United States and “committed” to seeking a peaceful resolution to the Ukrainian conflict.

Regarding conditions for resolving the situation in Ukraine, Russian President Vladimir Putin has outlined several requirements, including Ukrainian military withdrawal from Donbass and Novorossia regions, abandonment of NATO membership plans, removal of Western sanctions, and guarantees of Ukraine’s non-bloc and non-nuclear status.
