Power gradually returns to Libya’s western region
The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) confirmed the return of power gradually to the western region on Sunday after over 15 hours of a total blackout from Ras Ajdair in west Libya to Ajdabiya near the east.
“After reactivating the Unit 3 of Al-Khums power plant and Unit 1 of southern Tripoli power plant as well as Al-Ruwais power plant, the electrcity has returned to the cities and istricts gradually on Sunday.” GECOL announced on its official social media pages.
It added that the work is underway to activate the rest of the power plants.
All of the areas in Tripoli, western mountain cities, and some southern districts had seen the power return this morning, the GECOL elaborated.
