Petroleum Facilities Guard of the Presidential Council to take control of oil crescent region
The Chief of the Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG) of the Presidential Council, Brigadier General Edriss Bukhamada, said their forces will take over control of the oil terminals and facilities in the coming two days.
Brig. Gen. Bukhamada reiterated in a TV phone call with Al-Nabaa TV Channel that the goal of the PFG is to secure the oil facilities and will never be part of the conflict for them.
Earlier, an official at the Benghazi Defense Brigades (BDB) Yasir Al-Jabali called on the National Oil Corporation to immediately move to take over control of the oil terminals, shortly after they had entered them.
BDB forces launched Friday an operation aimed at returning Benghazi IDPs to their houses, saying the offensive only passed by the oil terminals and was not aiming at taking them under control.
BDB seized Ras Lanuf, Sidra oil terminals from Operation Dignity forces and also controlled the town of Ben Jawad and the airport of Ras Lanuf.
