The spokesman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) Muhammad Al-Harari, said that Libya’s oil production decreased to between 295 and 350 thousand barrels a day in the last two weeks due to electricity problems.

Al-Harari added that the lack of electric power supplies from the General Electricity Company affected the power plants in Al-Sareer and Masalla fields in eastern Libya.

He also said that the Libyan oil production is expected to heal a bit and reach a rate between 360 and 370 thousand barrels a day.

Libya’s oil production has seen a sharp drop from a high of more than 1.6 million bpd in 2011 due to political unrest and armed conflicts in many indifferent cities across the OPEC member country.
