Mogherini: Over 30.000 migrants voluntarily evacuated from Libya
The EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini said Thursday on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly that over 30,000 migrants have been “freed from Libya detention centers.”
Mogherini added that this achievement was made possible in cooperation and multilateralism between the UN, the EU, and the African Union.
Illegal immigrants have been favoring Libya as their number one route to Europe since the security situation deteriorated in the country post-February 17 revolution.
