Misurata students develop winning App
A team of students from Misurata University has triumphed at the Start Cup Competition, held at Istanbul Aydin University.
The competition, organised by the Union of Mediterranean Universities, fosters academic and research collaboration across the region.
The winning team, composed of engineering graduate Shaima Badi and medical student Tasneem Al-Dukali, developed “SANAA,” an e-commerce platform designed to empower Libyan women artisans. The app aims to combat unemployment by providing a digital marketplace for their handcrafted goods.
Under the guidance of Misurata University’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center, the students spent five months developing SANAA.
Their efforts culminated in victory over 23 other teams from 13 countries. The Start Cup Competition encourages innovation and cross-border collaboration within the academic community.
