Misurata appoints new mayor after assassination
Misurata municipal council member Mustafa Kroad was named mayor of Misurata as a successor to the late Mohammad Eshtiwi, who was assassinated by unidentified gunmen, on Sunday evening.
Kroad said that the members of the municipal council agreed on Monday to appoint him as mayor of the municipality until the upcoming elections.
The assassination of, Mohammad Eshtiwi, was widely condemned in Libya and by foreign ministries of Turkey, France, Britain, Tunisia, Algeria and the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL).
