Maiteeq calls on participants of Berlin summit to focus on ending all foreign interventions in Libya
Deputy head of Libya's previous government urges participants of Berlin 2 to focus on ending foreign meddling in Libya and bringing the country out of its state of instability
Ahmed Maiteeq, the Deputy Head of the former Libyan Presidential Council, stated that Libyans are hopeful that the participants of the Berlin conference II will reach a final agreement on ending external military and political meddling in Libyan affairs.
Maiteeq also implored conference members, who will meet on June 23rd, to practice responsible and constructive international diplomacy.
This should be based on the principles of Libyan sovereignty, commitment to neutrality among Libyan parties, and contribution to the success of the democratic transition.
He stressed that the Libyan people have the right to live in permanent security and stability, underlining the need of laying the groundwork for the impending elections on December 24th, 2021 to bring the country out of its ten year long state of instability.
