Luzon calls for the dissolution of Libya’s HoR and HSC
Raphael Luzon, U.K.-Based President of the Union of the Jews of Libya appealed to the Libyans to work to save the country from the brothers before the enemies, Ean Libya reports.
In a statement to Ean Libya, Luzon emphasised the need to go to the third alternative, which is to assign an uncontroversial Libyan national personality to form a mini-government whose main duty is to work for the holding of legislative and presidential elections.
The President of the Jewish Union of Libya pointed out that this issue marks the beginning of the construction of a civil and democratic state and the disappearance of all those who have been at the fore in the Libyan political scene since 2011, especially the House of Representatives and the High State Council, stressing that this is what most Libyan civil society parties and institutions are working on.
Luzon added: “As Jews, we call upon our honourable brethren of the homeland to work together to save Libya and we also ask the major nations to listen to us as part of the cultural components of Libya.”
The suffering of Jews in Libya began blatantly in conjunction with the 1948 war. Jews were required to obtain special permits to prove their identity, as the persecution and targeting began to intensify and escalate with the defeat of the Egyptian army and the loss of Sinai in 1967.
