Libya’s Presidential Council condemns Haftar’s airstrike on Tripoli field hospital
The Libyan Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord (GNA) has condemned the airstrike of Khalifa Haftar’s forces on a Tripoli field hospital that killed five medics and injured 8 others.
In a statement on Sunday, the Presidential Council said Haftar’s systematic attacks on civilian houses and facilities are violations of international humanitarian law and human rights law as well as a war crime.
“We are documenting the crime and we will exert all efforts in order to bring the perpetrators and those who gave them orders to justice.” The statement reads.
It urged the international community to take up deterrent measures against the ‘attacking militias led by Khalifa Haftar.’
The statement added that th Libyan Army under GNA’s command are continuing their legitimate defending of Tripoli and its residents.
