Libya’s HCS member: Al-Sweihli was backed by 70 members to remain in his position
A member at the High Council of State (HCS), who asked to be unnamed, has confirmed that the current Head of the HCS, Abdelrahman Al-Sweihli, was backed by 70 HCS members to be reelected in his post.
Meanwhile, the member added that the HCS member, Jumua Al-Usta, who is known for his close relationship with the United Arab Emirates, has been pushing members to rally around the candidate of National Forces Alliance, Abdullah Juwan.
The member also indicated that Al-Sweihli is currently under a frenzy opposition campaign at the HCS by those driven by UAE agenda, all aiming at replacing Al-Sweihli so that they can establish for Khalifa Haftar’s agenda in the country.
