Libya’s electoral body, UN delegate announce kick-start of voter registrations for 2018 elections
The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) has announced the start of the voter registration process for all the Libyans illegible for casting ballots in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in 2018.
The HNEC’s announcement came in a joint presser with the UN delegate to Libya Ghassan Salame in Tripoli less than an hour ago.
The HNEC said it had prepared everything for the upcoming elections but the Libyans are urged to participate and make their own decisions.
Salame also demanded that all Libyan political stakeholders must vow to respect the elections’ results in order to put an end to the Libyan crisis.
He also said that he sensed that all Libyans are ready for this procedure and “it must be done for the good of Libya and Libyans.”
