Libyan defenses shot down UAE-made drone used by Haftar’s forces
The forces of the Libyan Army under the command of the Government of National Accord (GNA) shot down Saturday night a drone made in the UAE used by Khalifa Haftar’s forces in their attacks on Tripoli.
The Libyan Army media office said the Emirati surveillance drone was shot down by Libyan defense system in Al-Sawsni in southern Tripoli.
The UAE has been a major supporter for Haftar and his forces since his Operation Dignity started in 2014 and has been accused by the UN and other organizations of setting up an airbase in Al-Marj in eastern Libya – Al-Khadim – to provide military support for Haftar and his forces.
