Libyan coastguards rescue 119 illegal immigrants off western shores
The Libyan Coast Guard patrols have saved about 119 illegal immigrants off Millitah district’s shores in western Libya, according to sources from the Libyan Navy.
The spokesman of the Libyan Navy, Ayoub Qasim, said the boat, on which the migrants were, was wooden and once water leaked into it, they were left stranded in the open sea.
“There were 11 women and 7 children among the illegal migrants that were rescued on Sunday.” Qasim added.
He also said that the migrants were from different countries, like Pakistan, Syria, Ghana, and Morocco.
