Libyan Coast Guard intercepts 1000 illegal immigrants off Sabratha shores
The media office of the Libyan Coast Guard announced that the coastguards intercepted 1,000 illegal immigrants off Sabratha shores Friday morning.
The illegal immigrants were of different African nationalities and were attempting to cross the Mediterranean through to Italy using Libyan coast as a stepping stone.
Libya has become the favorite crossing point to Europe for all migrants with numbers rocketing as summer entered in the country.
