Libya Stabilisation Act has not passed US Congress
Reports claiming the passage of the Libya Stabilisation Act are incorrect, an insider source told Libyan Express.
While the US House of Representatives approved the bill in 2021 and referred it to the Senate that September, the legislation remains unpassed, the source explained.
The source indicated that the bill’s progression has been limited as Libya already falls under the provisions of the 2019 “Fragile States” Act, which provides existing framework for US engagement with unstable nations.
The Libya Stabilisation Act was designed to support political stability and address security challenges in Libya through various diplomatic and economic measures.
