Libya seeks to mirror Tunisia’s social work expertise

Libya’s social affairs minister expressed interest Friday in adopting Tunisia’s approach to social services and human resources training in the social work sector.
Wafaa Abu Bakr Al-Kilani, who also heads the Arab Organization for the Family, toured several Tunisian social institutions alongside Tunisia’s Minister of Family Affairs Asmaa Al-Jabri.
The delegation visited the National Observatory for Combating Violence against Women and the Center for Research, Studies, Documentation and Information on Women (CREDIF). They also toured the Higher Institute for Childhood at Carthage Dermesh.
Al-Kilani praised Tunisia’s progress in addressing women’s issues and violence prevention, noting the country’s emphasis on advanced education for childhood development professionals.
The visit, which began Thursday, included stops at the National Center for Child-Oriented Media and the Oum El Kheir elderly care facility in Ariana.
