Libya: One person killed in new airstrikes on Tripoli’s Mitiga Airport

Khalifa Haftar’s Air Force carried in the early hours of Thursday airstrikes – and some sources say artillery shelling – on Tripoli’s Mitiga Airport, leaving massive fire inside the airport.

The managment of the airport said at least one person was killed and others injured in the shelling on the airport.

It also announced shutting down air traffic and suspension of flights, redirecting them to Misurata Airport.

This is just another time when Haftar’s Air Force targets Mitiga Airport – the only operational airport in Tripoli – but the first time when casualties are reported.
