Libya hardliner force arrests CEO of Septimius Festival; reports
The CEO of the Libyan Septimius Festival, Sulaiman Qashout, was arrested by the Tripoli-based Special Deterrence Force (SDF) on Sunday from one of Tripoli’s cafes.
According to local media channels, the CEO of the media event Septimius Festival, which took place last March ago to celebrate he media production in Libya, was arrested along with the manager of the event Mohammed Al-Yaaqubi.
According to local sources from Libya, the arrest of the festival’s CEO and manager could have been triggered by objections for certain conservative communities in Libya, including the hardliner force (SDF) to the style and presentation of the media festival, which featured dancing and music among other things.
Meanwhile, Libyan News could not reach SDF for immediate comment on the arrest.
