Libya construction expo draws 185 firms amid push for foreign investment

The Libya Construction Exhibition opened in Tripoli yesterday with 185 local and international companies participating, drawing official delegations from Turkey, Tunisia, Algeria, Egypt, and Greece.

Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, head of the interim Government of National Unity, inaugurated the event on Monday, emphasising its significance for national economic development and infrastructure growth.

According to a government statement on Facebook, the exhibition aims to attract foreign investment and foster collaboration between domestic and international firms.

“We encourage foreign companies to operate within Libya and support our reconstruction efforts,” Dabaiba said, pledging his government’s commitment to creating a conducive investment environment.

He highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships with foreign enterprises as a catalyst for economic growth while maintaining support for local industries.

The exhibition serves as a showcase for cutting-edge construction technologies and solutions, providing a platform for industry collaboration in Libya’s reconstruction efforts.

In a related development, an industrial exhibition was also launched in Benghazi, though details were not immediately available.
