Taher Al-Baour travelled to the Black Sea resort of Sochi for the meeting, which covered regional conflicts and UN Security Council matters.
The talks, revealed in a statement by Libya’s foreign ministry, come as both nations seek to expand their influence in the Middle East and North Africa.
“Libya values its historic relationship with Russia,” Al-Baour told reporters, signalling his country’s eagerness to deepen cooperation across multiple sectors.
Moscow pledged its backing for Libya’s push towards stability, with both ministers agreeing to boost joint committees focused on trade and cultural exchanges.
The meeting also addressed the ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon, though specific details of these discussions were not disclosed.
