John Kerry: We and foreign powers are ready to arm GNA to fight ISIS
The US Secretary of State has said that his country, Italy and other foreign powers (the 25-member group) had agreed to exempt the Government of National Accord from the UN arms embargo imposed to halt the Libyan conflict.
Kerry said all those countries are ready to extend the help needed for the UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) by giving it the arms and weapons necessary to fight the terrorist groups of ISIS in there.
Along with Italy’s Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni, Kerry said there are no plans to deploy an international military force in Libya to support the new government.
On the other hand, the Italian Foreign Minister, Paolo Gentiloni, said also that the priority now goes also for providing humanitarian aids to Libyan cities and towns, such as medicines and foods and other needed materials.
