Editor – Remote News Writer/Permanent role
Description
Candidates will have an interest in news writing and publishing. Candidates will be responsible for writing news stories and creating feature content on topics across the politics, lifestyle and business spectrum.
Qualifications
- Excellent written/oral English proficiency
- University graduate—preferably Journalism /English /Politics
Skills
- Knowledge of Libyan politics, culture, history
- Ability to effectively handle multi-task assignments under pressure and deadlines
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced working environment
- Passion for following news
- Strong grasp of the social media ecosystems
- Ability to adapt to changing shift work
- Ability to work efficiently and in cooperation with team members
- Ability to write accurate journalistic headlines and summaries
Responsibilities
- Write news articles
- Edit, proof and rewrite copy to improve readability and ensure consistency
- Verify facts, dates and details using standard reference sources
- Edit to house style, and enforce editorial policy
- Develop story ideas for feature content
