Italian Defense Minister: We will provide GNA with what demands it needs
The Italian Defense Minister, Roberta Pinotti, confirmed that her country will never think twice when it comes to granting the UN-backed GNA its demands.
In a press interview with the American Washington Post newspaper Thursday, Pinotti indicated that the first step for achieving stability in Libya entails the full being of a government in the country and that it would represent the different political factions and be able put through its demands to the international community.
“If Italy saw an eminent threat to its country, security, and stability, it would definitely be ready to take all the necessary measures to foil it”. Pinotti indicated.
She said that during the upcoming NATO summit in Warsaw on July 7th, Italy will push for an initiative to be sent in the Mediterranean. This could include ships from the European countries and maybe from the NATO as well as part of coordinated operations off the Libyan coast.
