Israel Intercepts Drone Near Egyptian Border

The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) announced Wednesday it intercepted a drone reportedly carrying weapons that entered Israeli airspace from Egypt.
This follows two similar incidents reported by Israel in October, where the military said it shot down drones allegedly smuggling weapons from Egyptian territory.
Egyptian security sources, when contacted about the latest incident, stated they had no information about the reported drone interception.
Since the Gaza conflict began, Israeli officials have claimed Hamas uses tunnels beneath the Egypt-Gaza border for weapons smuggling through the Sinai region.
Egypt maintains it eliminated the tunnel networks to Gaza several years ago and has established a buffer zone with border fortifications to prevent smuggling activities.
