Iranian government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani reassured citizens on Wednesday that their daily lives would remain unaffected by the outcome of the US presidential election, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency.

The statement came following Donald Trump’s victory declaration in the presidential contest, after Fox News projected his win over Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, marking what would be a remarkable political resurgence since departing the White House in 2021.

“We have received an unprecedented and powerful mandate from America,” Trump announced to enthusiastic supporters at the Palm Beach County Convention Center early Wednesday morning.

He was joined on stage by his vice presidential pick, Senator JD Vance, along with Republican leadership and family members.
