Investigation launched into leaked security documents from 2011

The statement did not provide details about the nature of the confidential information

The Public Prosecutor has ordered an investigation after an individual identified only as “S. Sh.” allegedly accessed and circulated confidential documents belonging to the Jamahiriya Security Agency and External Security Service outside authorised departments in 2011.

According to a statement from the Public Prosecution, the Deterrence Force has been directed to lead the investigation and has already interviewed the suspect regarding how they obtained the sensitive materials.

Investigators have reportedly seized official documents related to the security agencies that were found in the suspect’s possession “without legal justification,” the statement revealed.

Officials conducting the inquiry have documented the contents of these materials as they prepare to present evidence to the investigating authority.

The statement did not provide details about the nature of the confidential information or potential charges the suspect might face.
