The Government of National Unity of Libya sent a high-level delegation to participate in Interpol’s 92nd General Assembly, currently underway in Glasgow, Scotland.

Leading the Libyan contingent is Abdelhamid Touati, director of the Legal Affairs Department, accompanied by Nour El-Din Al-Shaalali, director of the Arab and International Criminal Police Office, along with several other law enforcement officials.

In a significant development during the opening session, assembly members approved an agenda that included the formation of a specialised legal committee. The committee, to be chaired by Major General Touati, will review proposed amendments to Interpol’s existing laws and regulations.

The General Assembly serves as Interpol’s supreme governing body, bringing together representatives from its 195 member countries annually to make key decisions affecting global law enforcement cooperation.
