HoR member Baira says Speaker is an obstacle
Member of the Tobruk-based House of Representatives (HoR) Abu Bakr Baira stated that the Speaker of the HoR Aquilah Saleh should be replaced.
Baira added that the presidency of the HoR is to blame for the deterioration of the parliament and the division among the members.
In a TV interview on Sunday on a local TV Channel, Baira, added that the recent session in Tobruk was interrupted by chaos and that they cannot continue to work in such an environment.
He added that the boycotting members believ that Saleh is an obstacle in the HoR, adding that three years are more than enough for him in his position
“We need a united parliament.” Baira cited the HoR boycotting members as saying.
Baira also called for finding another city than Tobruk for the HoR meetings with a full quorum, saying that his visit to Tripoli earlier this month was aimed at convincing boycotting members to hold such a session.
