HCS gives go-ahead to attending Paris international conference on Mya 29
The High Council of State (HCS) has decided in a meeting in Tripoli for its members to go to Paris and attend the French-brokered international conference.
The agreement on attendance came in a statement following the internal voting of HCS members.
The statement said their participation will be focused on making clear the rejection of returning Libya to military rule, clinging to Libyan Political Agreement signed in December 2015 in Morocco, Skhirat, and the constants of February 17 revolution, in addition to immediate ceasefire and lifting of siege on Derna.
The HCS also said that it will also focus on going to constitution referendum and issuing elections laws before holding the elections.
Meanwhile, Libyan main stakeholders and representatives of 19 countries including Italy will be meeting in Paris on Tuesday for a new French-brokered conference that aims at gathering all stakeholders’ consents on going to elections by the end of 2018.
