Haftar’s forces declare their delegation’s talks in Moscow a success
Haftar's forces have announced that their discussions in Moscow with a Russian delegation have been successful
Haftar’s troops declared the success of their delegation’s discussions in Moscow, Russia.
This was said by the Haftar Forces Guidance Agency, citing the delegation’s leader, Lieutenant General Khairy Tamimi, Director of Khalifa Haftar’s Office and member of the Joint Military Commission 5 + 5.
“The Moscow meetings were fruitful,” Lieutenant-General Tamimi said, noting that the Russian side had confirmed its “support for the stabilization of Libya and the need to evacuate foreign forces and mercenaries and dismantle armed groups, in accordance with the Geneva Ceasefire Convention and the Military Commission of 5 + 5 conclusions.”
Tamimi said that Moscow has also emphasized the need of holding elections on time for the upcoming 24 December.
Major General Khalid Al-Mahjoub, Director of the Haftar Forces Counselling Department, recently stated that Haftar had dispatched a military team to Russia, led by the head of his office, without providing any information about the visit.
