France’s President Macron meets with Libya’s Haftar in Paris
Reports from Paris have confirmed that Khalifa Haftar has arrived to meet with the French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss the ongoing fighting in Tripoli.
According to the reports, Haftar and Macron are meeting Wednesday afternoon and will be discussing the ceasefire calls that have been issued by France when Macron met with the Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sirraj.
France is a supporter of Khalifa Haftar and has been accused by reports and by the government in Tripoli of backing up Haftar’s attack on Tripoli.
France denied such a support and reiterated the support for GNA and the political process under the UNSMIL, calling for unconditional ceasefire in Tripoli.
