Former Operation Dignity official Al-Barasi condemns Haftar’s attempt to kidnap him
The former senior leader of Operation Dignity, which is led by Khalifa Haftar, Colonel Faraj Al-Barasi, was not abducted by the armed groups of Operation Dignity, said Colonel Abdelsalam Al-Barasi, adding he deplores these terrorists and criminal acts.
According to Al-Nabaa TV, Al-Barasi has manged to escape the kidnap attempt that was staged by Haftar’s forces, who stormed Al-Barasi’s farm on Sunday but could not find him there.
Colonel Abdelsalam Al-Barasi, who is the military leader of the Green Mountain that is related to the control of Haftar’s Army Command, announced that he had defected from the “General Army Command” led by Khalifa Haftar, Al-Nabaa TV reported.
The Haftar-led forces had clashed with Faraj Al-Barasi’s farm guards, including his brother Idriss, before they abducted him and went away from the farm, which is located in Bayda, eastern Libya.
Both Al-Barasi and Haftar are not on good terms as the former announced that he opposes Operation Dignity conduct in the eastern region.
