Fighting intensifies in Tripoli, exchange of fire at Tripoli port
Fighting has continued in the Libyan capital since Tuesday morning and now spilled from Ghararat district into Tripoli port, where Nawasi Brigade exchanged fire with the armed brigade tasked with the security of the port.
Sources from the capital said that two of the Nawasi brigade fighters were injured in the clashes.
Clashes are still raging on up until the writing of this report.
In the morning, heavy clashes have erupted in Tripoli, with news about blocking roads from down town Tripoli at 11 July Bridge up to Tajoura.
The clashes have been taking place since Monday around Tripoli Mitiga Airport, at the area known as Ghararat.
According to local media, some fighters were killed and others injured in the clashes that are mainly between Special Deterrent Force and armed groups from Ghararat.
In the meantime, after short shutdown of Mitiga Airport on Monday then resumption on the same day, the airport announced this morning that flights are all stopped and might be redirected to Misurata Airport.
Sources from the capital also reported that clashes re still raging on with sounds of RPGs and heavy weapons coming from the area of fighting.
