Exclusive: Libyan constitution draft approved by CDA in Al-Bayda
According to sources from the Constitution Drafting Assembly (CDA) in Al-Bayda city, the Libyan constitution final draft has been approved by a majority of votes of 44 members representing the three Libyan regions.
The sources told Libyan News that the constitution urges for electing a House of Representatives and a Senate in no more than 180 days from the passing of the constitution.
Meanwhile, a local Libyan TV channel reported a CDA member, Nadia Omran, as saying that there are pro-Haftar armed groups outside the CDA HQ in Al-Bayda and they are threatening the members because of the constitution approval.
She also told the TV channel that they had attacked the HQ of the CDA and pronounced their disapproval of the step.
