Erdogan promises to do all in Turkey’s power to defend Libya’s legitimate government
The Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has spoken to the Head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sirraj on the phone and told him that Turkey will be doing all that is in its power to help prevent the conspiracy that is being plotted against legitimacy and stability in the country.
Erdogan added on Monday, according to a statement by the PC’s media office on Facebook, that Turkey and Libya will be activating joint agreements in all fields, while Al-Sirraj explained that the activation of security agreements will be the most needed and most urgent at this time.
This phone call was preceded by a statement by President Erdogan, who said on Sunday that there is a government legitimized by people’s approval and a dictator receiving support from some Arab countries and Europe, meaning to Khalifa Haftar, in Libya.
He made clear that Turkey will do all it can to prevent the Syrian scenario in Libya, seeing that there many Arab countries are in support of Haftar in his war on Tripoli, he added.
