Egypt says carried airstrike on border with Libya, killed 8 militants
An Egyptian military spokesman, Colonel Tamer Al-Refai, said in statement on Saturday that eight militants were killed in an airstrike near Egypt’s border with Libya.
The spokesman added that “the militants” were plotting hostile acts against Egyptian targets, according to the statement.
“The operation took place upon intelligence information… that confirmed the presence of a cell in the western desert preparing for hostile acts,” Al-Refai said.
No Libyan official response or statement has been made regarding this issue yet.
