Dbeibah calls for EU action on economic challenges and migration

Libya’s Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah has urged the European Union to take a unified stance against unauthorised parallel spending, which he claims is negatively impacting Libyan citizens.
In discussions with EU Ambassador to Libya Nicola Orlando, Prime Minister Dbeibah identified the devaluation of the Libyan dinar as a critical economic challenge facing the nation, attributing the currency’s decline to unregulated financial activities.
The talks also addressed migration concerns, with the Prime Minister firmly stating that Libya should not become a permanent destination for irregular migrants.
“We need coordinated efforts on migrant repatriation plans that respect both national sovereignty and humanitarian principles,” Dbeibah emphasised during the diplomatic exchange.
