Croatia acquires Turkish Bayraktar TB2 drones in $91 million deal
Croatia has finalised an agreement to purchase Bayraktar TB2 combat drones from Türkiye for $91 million, bolstering its national defense capabilities.
The deal, confirmed by the Croatian Ministry of Defence, signifies a deepening of bilateral defense cooperation and highlights the growing global demand for Türkiye’s cost-effective and combat-proven unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
The agreement encompasses a fleet of Bayraktar TB2 drones, along with associated ground control stations and logistical support equipment.
“This procurement marks a significant step in modernizing the Croatian Armed Forces,” stated Defence Minister Mario Banožić. “The Bayraktar TB2 drones will enhance our military capabilities and contribute to regional stability and security.”
The Bayraktar TB2 has gained international recognition for its performance in various conflicts, renowned for its affordability and precision strike capabilities.
This acquisition positions Croatia among a growing number of nations leveraging UAV technology to augment their defense strategies.
